Do you have a Supervising Physician who demonstrates great mentorship of their PAs and fosters the unique relationship of trust, collegiality, and mutual respect essential for any great healthcare team? PA of the Year
If you know a PA who has demonstrated exemplary service to his or her patients, the community, and the PA profession, please consider a nomination for PA of the Year. This award recognizes the exceptional PA who has a history of consistently advocating for his or her patients, practice and profession. In addition to excellence on the job, nominees are frequently active in such areas as public education, community citizenship, charitable healthcare and other volunteer activities.
Nominees for PA of the Year may self-nominate or may be nominated by other PAs, physicians, PA students, patients, colleagues or co-workers. *A letter of recommendation from a colleague, coworker or patient is required if self-nomination.
Nominees must meet the following criteria:
- Fellow or Sustaining Member of IAPA in good standing
- Fellow member of the AAPA in good standing
- A resident of Idaho or currently practicing as a PA in the state of Idaho, employed by the federal government and working in the state of Idaho, or employed as faculty at an Idaho university
- Not a current IAPA Board Member, an IAPA HOD Representative or IAPA Committee Chair
Humanitarian PA of the Year Award
This award honors a PA who has demonstrated exemplary service by providing high quality, safe and accessible healthcare either internationally or to an Idaho Medically Underserved Community. A Medically Underserved Area means a geographic area which the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services has determined is underserved by primary care health professionals.
This award will be evaluated based upon many factors, including but not limited to:

Evidence of providing accessibility to health care

Evidence of personal sacrifice associated with providing health care related service

Evidence of ongoing commitment or activities to improve and/or sustain the accessibility of health care

Length of service

Membership in IAPA
Supervising Physician of the Year Award
This award recognizes a supervising physician who demonstrates great mentorship of his or her PAs and fosters the unique relationship of trust, collegiality, and mutual respect that is essential for any great physician/PA team. The nominated physician displays evidence of collaboration that allows both the physician and the PA to provide greater medical service to their patients and their community than either one would be able to do alone.
Nominees for the Supervising Physician of the Year Award may be nominated by PAs, physicians, PA students, colleagues or co-workers. Teams must meet the following criteria:

The PA team member(s) must be a member of the IAPA in good standing

The physician must be residents of Idaho or currently practicing in the State of Idaho, employed by the federal government and working in the state of Idaho, or employed at an Idaho university.
Newcomer of the Year
This award celebrates new talent and those starting out in the PA profession, with two years or less experience. Nominees will have a demonstrated enthusiasm for and commitment to furthering their new profession.
Nominees for Newcomer of the Year may self-nominate or may be nominated by other PAs, physicians, PA students, patients, colleagues or co-workers. *A letter of recommendation from a colleague, coworker or patient is required if self-nomination.
Nominees must meet the following criteria:
